A System Manufacturers Perspective - Maximising the full accuracy potential of acoustic measurements
The presentation provides examples of the critical role that the environment plays in the success and accuracy of acoustic positioning with a focus on LBL array calibrations. Obtaining optimal results requires thorough survey planning, awareness and careful observation procedures during the acquisition, processing, and successful adjustment of the data.
An Operators Perspective - The environmental differences between the acoustic environment in the Atlantic Ocean and the Caspian Sea
The presentation will give an overview of two very different the types of acoustic environment and why these differences occur and the care needed to measure and monitor these changes as they occur in the acoustic environment. The importance of correct analysis and interpretation of the data will be illustrated with examples of what can be achieved even in challenging environmental conditions.
The presentations will be preceded by The Hydrographic Society in Scotland's AGM
All members and visitors are welcome to attend
A buffet will be provided for which there will be a nominal charge of £5.00. For catering purposes please notify Dave Philip (david.philip@bp.com) by 13th March if you wish to attend.
