So : What is a SuperLambBanana?!

SuperLambBananas have become a part of Liverpool life - you will not miss them during your visit to Hydro8. Your organising team were inspired by their quirky humour when we visited Liverpool earlier in the year, and have invited a few SuperLambBananas to become involved with our event!

In 2004 Liverpool was inscribed into UNESCO’s World Heritage list as a "supreme example of a commercial port at the time of Britain’s greatest global influence".

Liverpool has more museums and galleries than any other city outside London and a rich musical heritage ranging from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to The Beatles. Visitors can marvel at the Tate Liverpool, Merseyside Maritime Museum or The Beatles Story- all housed within the Albert Dock which itself comprises the largest collection of Grade 1 listed buildings in the UK. Also on the waterfront are the city’s majestic ‘Three Graces’ – the Royal Liver Building, the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building – which never fail to impress.

Away from the dock there are two cathedrals, the Walker Art Gallery, and an impressive array of industrial and civic architecture as well as numerous shopping complexes, bars, cafes and restaurants. Slightly further afield, are Southport and St Helens, or visitors can take a ferry across the Mersey to discover the beautiful Wirral Peninsular and the Roman splendour of Chester.

For sports fans, the city offers visits to the homes of two legendary teams – Liverpool at Anfield and Everton at Goodison Park - as well as taking in the Grand National Experience at Aintree. 'England’s Golf Course' stretching from Cumbria to Cheshire, taking in the Wirral and Southport, is home to the highest concentration of championship links courses in the world and boasts three in the top twenty – Royal Birkdale, Royal Liverpool and Royal Lytham and St Annes.
