RESON launches new low cost expedition-ready multibeam system

7 March 2010

RESON HydroBatRESON has once again demonstrated its ability to fine-tune its product range in both price and features, by introducing a new cost-efficient sonar which bridges the gap between single beam echo sounders and high resolution multibeam sonar systems. HydroBat is an entry-level multibeam system operating at 160kHz and covers a swath of 120°.

RESON report that a task that used to take a week with the old single beam echo sounders, takes only three days with this new multibeam HydroBat.

Designed to be simple and reliable, the new HydroBat is ready to meet the demands of serious hydrographic users in harbours and ports. RESON report that HydroBat has the ability to run a fully functional survey software package on the sonar processor. Commenting on the way HydroBat is optimised, the R&D engineering team points out that the product has been specifically designed for surveyors looking to make the transition from single beam to multibeam sonar, with the minimum of investment but without sacrificing product quality and performance.

Being expedition-ready demands not only high quality equipment but also highly qualified technical support service, fast-response field support, a comprehensive inventory of spare parts and quick-start training - RESON is uniquely positioned to meet these demands.

HydroBat will be demonstrated during Oceanology International 2010 in London, 9-11th March.
