Individual Membership

Individual membership is open to all those who are studying, working in or have an interest in the field of hydrography and its related disciplines.  Individual membership categories include; Individual, Student & New Graduate, and Retired.

As an Individual Member you will receive:

  • Four editions of the THS UK quarterly magazine soundings;
  • Access to all publications produced by the International Federation of Hydrographic Societies e.g. Special Publications.
  • Access to the THS UK e-Bulletin (sign up using the envelope button at the bottom of the menu on the left).
  • Admittance at preferential discount to special events such as international/national symposia, seminars, workshops and Regional meetings.
  • Preferential discounts on the purchase price of Special Publications and Proceedings of symposia and workshops.
  • Inclusion in list of Society members as and when published.
  • Opportunities to seek employment via the Jobs page or soundings at preferential rates.

Annual Subscription Rates

  • Individual members - £90
  • Retired members - £45
  • Student & New Graduate* members - £30

The membership year runs from 1st April to 31st March.

The easiest way to pay your subscription is to pay online by credit card or PayPal.  Alternatively, you can pay via bank transfer, please tick the box on the application form to request payment details.  The appropriate application forms can be downloaded below.

Each application form is a fillable pdf form that can be completed on-screen then saved and emailed as an attachment to membership@ths.org.uk.

Student & New Graduate Membership is open to those either currently undertaking relevant full-time education or who have graduated from such a course within the last three years. Proof of student status or date of graduation must be supplied

The International Federation of Hydrographic Societies (IFHS) Hydrographic Professional Accreditation Scheme (HPAS) is now open for applicants.
