To mark the 25th anniversary of The Hydrographic Society UK (formerly the UK Branch of The Hydrographic Society) a celebratory evening has been arranged aboard HQS Wellington, moored on the Thames Embankment (opposite Temple tube station), on Friday 25th June 2010.

Timed to coincide with World Hydrography Day (21st June), THS UK 25 will offer:

  • Entertaining presentations by two eminent speakers renowned for their knowledgable, engaging and witty style: Ola Oskarsson, Managing Director of Marine Matteknik and Dr Mark Horton, Reader in Archaeology at the University of Bristol and Expert Presenter of the BBC's Coast.
  • A Drinks Reception in the ship's Model Room which boasts a priceless collection of antique model ships
  • A Hot Fork Buffet including a choice of main and side dishes, dessert and coffee
  • An opportunity to explore Wellington, the last surviving member of the Grimsby Class of sloops which served the nation with distinction in World War Two
  • A cash bar
  • The chance to meet up with colleagues and friends to salute the hydrographic profession
THS UK 25 will be an enjoyable event for surveyors and non-surveyors alike, and we hope that our members and friends bring their partners along... Why not make a weekend of it and visit some of the other attractions in London too?
Tickets - priced at £60 (inc. VAT) - can now be reserved using either the online or manual versions of the Booking Form, which are all available at the bottom of the dedicated THS UK 25 page.
