'TeamSurv – Everyone can be a hydrographic surveyor' by Tim Thornton, Smartcom Software

Tim will deliver a thought provoking presentation on his innovative research into applying "Crowd Sourcing" techniques to hydrographic survey.

TeamSurv is a project where mariners help create better charts of coastal waters, by logging depth and position data whilst they are at sea, and uploading the data to the web for processing and display.

So - will this technology make traditional surveyors redundant - or does it complement the work of professionals? Come along to find out - and join in the debate!
