We are actively seeking Hydrographic Data Processors to join Next Geosolutions, a marine survey and offshore construction support company who provide services worldwide in the Energy, Infrastructure & Utilities markets.

Next Geosolutions mission is to provide integrated services, both on land and at sea, to support the entire lifetime of our Client’s projects and assets, establishing ourselves as an independent, QHSE mindful and technology driven contractor.

They are currently involved with and have a number of projects scheduled over the next few years which include Geophysical, Hydrographic and Construction support and positioning surveys for the subsea cables, renewables and oil and gas markets.

Key Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Processor to join the company, working with the offshore team.

As a key member of the Survey team, you will be responsible for collecting and accurately processing and/or charting of geophysical, hydrographic and/or positioning survey data collected offshore by the survey teams. This will include data analysis and modelling, and preparation of survey data as required by the scope of work and project specifications for final reporting.

Organisation:
 
  • During your time offshore you will be working closely with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of other Surveyors, Survey Engineers, Geophysicists, Party Chief, Reports Coordinator and other Data Processors, Geotechnical engineers and operators as well as the marine crew.
  • You will ensure all survey data is suitable for processing requirements and project specifications.
  • You will communicate regularly with survey team onboard and onshore teams when required and report into the Party Chief
  • Offshore experience on a range of survey projects and able to work offshore for circa 180 days per year.

Responsibilities and Objectives:

  • Participate in the mobilisation activities. Assisting in the setup and configuration of IT systems associated with processing of data and storage.
  • Process survey data mainly with EIVA software suite in accordance to the project specifications and relevant procedures.
  • Inform Party Chief or the Reports Coordinator on data processing quality.
  • Finalise and get approval for data collected offshore to support final deliverables.
  • Ideally use either AutoCAD or GIS to produce deliverables / reports.
  • Perform survey data analyses, conversions and visualisations for tender, project engineering support and final deliverables
  • Experience working with Hydrographic / Geophysical and Positional data including experience primarily in Multibeam Echo Sounders, Sidescan sonars, TSS Pipetrackers and subsea positioning as well as a wide range of peripheral software such as AutoCAD, EIVA Navi suite, QGIS, SQL Server and digital video.

Essential:

  • Current and valid offshore medical certificate;
  • Current and valid offshore survival certificate;
  • Fair to Good English Communication skills;
  • Minimum 2 years experience in offshore survey.
  • Qualification in appropriate survey-related subject or recognized technician qualification or approved military service qualification.
  • Survey processing background with experience primarily in data acquisition from Multibeam Echo Sounders, Sidescan sonars, TSS Pipetrackers and subsea positioning as well as a wide range of peripheral software such as AutoCAD, EIVA Navi suite, QGIS, SQL Server and digital video.
  • An excellent communicator (verbally and written) and able to form good working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Disciplined, self-motivated and flexible team player.
  • Able to work flexible hours, travel when required and work offshore.
  • Must live within a reasonable distance of a major airport.
  • Proficient in the use of at least one Offline / Processing survey software package.
  • Understanding of the principles of real-time positioning, data processing and QC.
