We are actively seeking a Party Chief to join Next Geosolutions, a marine survey and offshore construction support company who provide services worldwide in the Energy, Infrastructure & Utilities markets.

Next Geosolutions mission is to provide integrated services, both on land and at sea, to support the entire lifetime of our Client’s projects and assets, establishing ourselves as an independent, QHSE mindful and technology driven contractor.

They are currently involved with and have a number of projects scheduled over the next few years which include Geophysical, Hydrographic and Construction support and positioning surveys for the subsea cables, renewables and oil and gas markets.

Role Purpose:

Assisting with the management of Survey operations, offshore, including equipment and human resources on-board to ensure the on-time delivery of well-organized and high quality data

Responsibility for the offshore management for the survey projects field activities of delegated projects as requested by manager or project specific manager, and / or field client representatives in order to meet agreed timescales and client expectations

Ultimately this position is responsible for assuring that client needs are effectively met regarding field activities, and that all tasks are performed efficiently, responsibly and in accordance with safe work procedures.

Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Controls and approves all the necessary quality records for all the activities related to vessel and project mobilisation, data acquisition, reporting and demobilisation, coordinating with Project team and QHSE in reviewing the work procedure and risk assessment reports;
  • QC and sign off on Daily Progress Reports (DPR).
  • Manages communication and coordinates effectively with the Client, vessel master and crew, Immigration, Customs, relevant Authorities and Shipping Agency when offshore;
  • Oversees the mobilisation/demobilisation of the survey vessel with regards to maintaining safe working practices, equipment and workplace verifications. Ensures that all the equipment mobilisation/demobilisation checks and calibrations to be carried out and required reporting is produced;
  • Coordinates, executes and completes the project offshore activities, provides final approval of all offshore deliverables according to the time schedule, and its possible variations.
  • Has overall responsibilities for data acquisition and QC process on board and assures the safe collection of data acquired during operations.
  • You ensure project deliverables are produced on time and up to the highest quality standards
  • Required to promote, encourage and ensure safe working practices amongst offshore survey team. Assisting the survey team in performing their work in accordance with safe work procedures
  • Advising on budget and cost control measures in close collaboration with the project manager survey field personnel

Required:

  • Candidates will need to have experience as a Party Chief and successfully completed Higher Education in Hydrographic Surveying, geophysics, geology, engineering or equivalent by experience similar.
  • You have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience at a Senior level and over 5 years experience in the offshore survey industry / offshore navigation and positioning systems.
  • Experience managing offshore survey operations for 5+ persons.
  • Must be proficient with a variety of the field concepts, practices, procedures and equipment operations such as Vessel and Subsea positioning systems, Navigation Software and survey equipment, data acquisition and processing.
  • You have an ability to achieve company and project objectives in challenging and remote conditions
  • You will have good communication skills and be able to take a practical and pragmatic approach towards the works to be carried out
  • You are fluent in verbal and written English. Knowledge of other languages would be an advantage
  • You have an excellent attention to detail, quality and safety
  • You are willing to work offshore onboard a vessel for 180 days per year (in rotations)
  • Provide a client focused approach with regards to communication, ethics and integrity. Identify clients needs and ensuring a high level of service.
