On 15th October, sixty guests helped RS Aqua celebrate the opening of their new office and engineering workshop in Port Solent Marina.

It proved to be a great networking event for the local marine technology sector, and featured local dignitaries such as the Deputy Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, Ben Dowling. The, then local MP for Portsmouth North, Rt Hon Penny Mordaunt (former Secretary of State for Defence), could not attend but sent a video message.

Tours were provided of RS Aqua's brand new engineering space, where guests were treated to a behind the scenes look at the marine technology maintenance and calibration services offered by the company, and demonstrations of key products such as the world renowned WaveRadar REX, the Datawell WaveRider and RS Aqua's Orca and Porpoise acoustic recorders.

At the event it was announced that RS Aqua have been awarded a Solent Prosperity Fund by the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership, and Managing Director Martin Stemp also announced donations to local charities The Society of St James, SSAFA (the Armed Forces charity) and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.

The RS Aqua team enjoyed a thoroughly warm welcome to their new home and are looking forward to playing a vibrant role in the growing local marine technology sector and supporting international business with the opportunities that this fantastic new location will bring.
